A concert ? Yes, but without an audience. The proposal tends to become more widespread, no doubt because it allows for a more polished implementation. In fact, the warm tones, the camera movements and the alternations of wide shots and close-ups fully contribute to the success of the moment - note that we can even appreciate the music, a rare thing at New Morning where the bar attracts heavy chatterboxes. Marc Berthoumieux's jazz benefits all the more from this as it is based on subtle games between the musicians. The accordionist started his career in the early 1970s and, like most instrumentalists of his time, he learned his hand by accompanying artists...
