TRIO with the CHARLIER / SOURISSE tandem

 

This new trio was born out of a desire to do battle with friends. But above all to unstitch and reweave the repertoire of Marc Berthoumieux. We trace, we cut, we put it in shape, we must see it worn and especially hear it play.

 

With seven albums to his credit, Marc Berthoumieux revisits here his repertoire (Les couleurs d'ici, Jazz / No Jazz, In Other Words, Le Bal des Mondes...) and some covers in a very recreational way with the exceptional tandem Charlier / Sourisse. The first concerts given in the Parisian clubs in 2021 were like a revelation as much for the members of this freshly constituted group, as for the audience present. Those who already know the compositions, rediscover them under a totally new light, with very "organic" colors, an elasticity and a power of actions / reactions on the nuances which bring a freshness of a rare intensity.
